Why did I decide to do the "Take Shape For Life" program?

But basically, Take Shape For Life is a program that focuses on supporting individuals that are looking for more that just loosing weight. It is a program that focuses on helping individuals obtain optimal health results for and maintain those results.

When I first heard this, I thought…here’s another weight loss program, and in essense it is. However, as I chose to put my judgements aside and allow myself to listen and experience the process, there were a number of things that made sense to me. I feel compelled to share my thoughts, and if they are of service to you in any way, then I’ve accomplished my goal. In case you are wondering what have been some of my results. I’ll be sharing those with you shortly, however, I am required to share with you that results vary from person to person, so I am not making the claim that you will have the same benefits. Now that those items are out in the open. Allow me to share with you how I’ve personally gained. In just over a month and a half, I’ve released well over 16 pounds and this has been accomplished even through the Thanksgiving Holidays. Before I started I knew that I’d let go of some weight, but I didn’t realize it would come off so quickly and easily. My initial primary intention was not weight loss, here are some of my reasons of why I chose to actually do it.

  • I know what I’m supposed to eat and how much, but for various reasons I wasn’t doing it, thus, I knew I had to do something different.

  • I liked the concept of the program that has me eat five simple convenient meals and then what they call a “lean and green” meal, meaning salad & protein.
  • I chose to use this concept to retrain myself into eating more frequent and in smaller amounts.
  • I received support from the person who invited me (my acupuncturist Chantelle from Meridian Acupuncture).
  • The meals that I tried were pretty decent and even though they seemed small, were filling.
  • I know that this program would not be forevever, but it would be one that would help me establish a good mindset and practice.
  • I believe that this is a program I could easily transition into my own program as I achieved my results.
  • The investment I was making was less than what I was spending on my regular meals, so it made it easy to use.
  • This program is established and I’ve seen direct results from personal friends and it was encouraging.

These are just a few of my thoughts that I considered as I thought about doing this program. Now, don’t get me wrong, this (like any other program) is not perfect. But since my intent is to use it as a re-training for my body, and to integrate it into a lifestyle, I feel very good about the choice I made, and this is why I’m sharing it with others.
