This weekend I had an opportunity to enjoy watching the NFL playoffs, and in doing so I was reminded of a key to success. Before I share my awareness, let me share the scenario. This weekend all of the top seeded teams that were expected to win their games lost. What’s the big deal about that? Well, it reminded me that in order to succeed you must still go out an play the game, regardless of the odds of winning. Yes, all the lower seeded teams pulled off upsets and simply outplayed teams to whom they were “supposed” to lose.
So here is where I remembered that regardless of what the situation in life, business, or any other adventure, in order to succeed I must play the game. If you don’t play, you don’t win. Yes, if you do play, you may have some setbacks, as those top seeded teams had this weekend, but you do also have the opportunity to win. Also, in my view you don’t really lose, unless you give up. But I love that old saying, “Winners are those that get up one more time than the times they fall”.
The moral of the story, go out and play the game. Give it all you got, walk away with no regrets and live life to the fullest. Enjoy the moment, this is why they call it the “present”.
