Hide and go seek, ready or not here I come

hide and seek 150x150 Hide and go seek, ready or not here I comeCan you find me in the picture? Our little one did [superemotions file="icon_lol.gif" title="Laughing Out Loud"].

It’s the little things like playing a game of hide and go seek that remind me of the beauty of life.  Just recently our little one has discovered the game of hide and go seek and he can’t seem to get enough of it.  Thus, I’ve had yet another opportunity to connect with that little boy inside of me by playing these kinds of games.  If you have little ones or access to playing with a child, take the opportunity to do so.  It is amazing how easily they find the fun in nearly anything.  Just the other day, Cathy and I were shopping for soccer shoes and Kaleo kept himself entertained for about 40 minutes with a shoe box and a sticker.  Really, when was the last time you kept yourself entertained for that period of time with a sticker and a shoe box?

What if we all went about our day with an outlook of a child?  Finding the joy in everything, communicating our boundaries very clearly, truly living in the moment, and so much more.  I believe our world would be a much better place if we chose to re-connect to those parts of ourselves that help us see the joy in everything we do.  Unfortunately, many of us over time have “grown up” and often miss out on the fun life has to offer.  I personally, experienced this for many years, and it wasn’t until I chose to let go of old non-serving patterns through programs like “Releasing The Past” or my Holistic Health Program that that I was able to re-connect to all the fun that was right in front of me on a daily basis.  (For those wondering what I mean by “Releasing The Past“, it was a process facilitated by one of my teachers Dr. Barry Green, I encourage you to check it out.  Just let him know you know me and that you’re curious about his program.)

Sometimes I wonder whether these personal postings are reaching as many people as I’d like.  But the reason I keep doing this is because if I can make a difference in even ONE life, I believe my sharing was well worth it.  I’d like to share a well known story that I believe will help me explain my perspective, I trust you’ll enjoy it.

The Starfish Storystarfish Hide and go seek, ready or not here I come

Once a man was walking along a beach. The sun was shining and it was a beautiful day. Off in the distance he could see a little boy going back and forth between the surf’s edge and and the beach. Back and forth this little boy went. As the man approached he could see that there were hundreds of starfish stranded on the sand as the result of the natural action of the tide.

The man was stuck by the the apparent futility of the task. There were far too many starfish. Many of them were sure to perish. As he approached the little boy continued the task of picking up starfish one by one and throwing them into the surf.

As he came up to the little boy he said, “You must be crazy. There are thousands of miles of beach covered with starfish. You can’t possibly make a difference.”  The little boy looked at the man.  He then stooped down and pick up one more starfish and threw it back into the ocean.  He turned back to the man and said, “It sure made a difference to that one!”
