Google Index – How To Get Indexed

Do you know what the Google Index is?  Is your site being indexed by Google, Bing, Yahoo and all the other search engines?  If you don't know what the Google index is, then you might as well just put your site out of its misery.  Getting indexed by Google, Bing, and/or Yahoo, is what makes your site show up on the search engine's "radar".  Namely getting indexed simply means that search engines like Google have noticed your site and they've put it into their database so that it can be found by users searching for your content.

So the question that follows is how to get indexed by Google and all the other major search engines.  Understanding how to get into the Google index is probably one of the most important steps you can take towards giving your website the visitors it needs.  Of course the other major search engines like Bing and Yahoo are important, but Google index still has the majority of the searches done today.   The good thing is you don't have to be very technologically savvy to understand search engine indexing.  As a matter of fact, I'll give you a simple resource to help you get your pages indexed by Google.  If you learn how to get indexed by Google, then your site will probably get indexed by the other search engines soon after.  So here we go...

At this point we've established that if you have a website or blog, you will need to get your website into the Google index for it to be noticed by search engines. This is absolutely necessary if you want people to know that your website exists.  And in order to get your website “spidered” (the process of having the search engine "robots" crawl your website) and indexed by the search engine, there are few ways that you can do it.   One of the easiest way to do it is to put backlinks from many authority websites that have high page rank back to your site.  It is not that difficult to Google index your site for as long as you know how to.

The higher the page rank a website has, the more often search engine spider will visit that particular website and the more likely your site will be indexed. Now, let's say that you have a page rank of seven (out of Google's 10 scale), if you have a website which has a page rank of seven, the search engine spider will visit your website more often than a website with a page rank of two or three. Now sometimes, it can be as often as every hour depends on how popular your website is.

An example of a great place to put backlinks and has a high page rank is craigslist.  Simply put an ad with your web page link you want in Google's index into the ads section of craigslist.  Keep an eye on the ranking of the page where you are placing the link, does it have  a high page rank for Google Index?  If so, put an ad in this section and your site is likely to be indexed very quickly.  Now, make sure that where you place your ad is suitable for your business, don’t just put it anywhere.  Also, make sure that you have a title,  a description and there’s a link back to your website and if you can, even put a picture that relates to your site.  Another important thing to mention is to make sure your links are clickable.  What good does it do to have a link that is there but not clickable?  Not much good, really.

Of course your ad will be much more effective if you make it interesting.   After all, remember, that even though you are doing this to get into the Google index, people will be finding this ad & this means traffic to your site if you’ve done this step well.  Word of caution, please be honest.  Don’t make some outrageous claim just to get a click.  What you might end up with is trouble for making false claims.  A good way to share a free report, free assessment, free content  or something else of value to the reader, and have them get it at your site.  If you want to make your link a bit more powerful (but not absolutely necessary) is to make an anchor text link.  This simply means have a keyword that is the link to the site.  Not sure what I mean, do a quick google search on how to create an anchor text link.

After your ad is complete, there is one final step.  You must confirm your ad.  Once you have confirmed and approved your ad, then it will go “live”.  Now watch, within the next one to two hours, your ads will be displayed in craigslist and your is likely to be added to the Google index site soon after, not to mention the traffic you would get just from having an ad on craigslist. Go have fun & enjoy getting your site spidered and indexed.
