National Certification Online Course

Welcome and congratulations on taking your next step in becoming a Nationally Certified Bodyworker. I feel honored and very excited about having the opportunity to share many tools, strategies, and resources
that will help you succeed in passing your exam. Additionally, these tools are set up to also support you in creating any success that you want to achieve. Finally, I have gone through extreme efforts to make your review and study process interesting and as fun as possible.. And just like that….let’s get started.

PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU READ THROUGH THE ENTIRE PAGE.

Though I will make every effort to be direct, there is much to be said…please don’t miss out by not reading.

First a couple of CRITICAL things to help you maximize your successes:

1. Anytime you see text in BOLD this is a very IMPORTANT part.
2. The only way anyone can actually succeed is by TAKING ACTION. Please follow each step given in the emails and take action. I suggest printing the email to make it easier on you.
3. Any questions you have, please email them to info@bodymindsuccess.com.

Remember, that each page has the content for one lesson. You may do the lesson in one day, or if you wish, you may spread it out over a period of time that is more appropriate for your schedule. This class is set up to meet YOUR needs. However, understand that these lessons are set up sequentially, so please do not move onto the next lesson until you’ve completed that day’s lesson.

How is the class structured?» What materials or resources will I need?» What are the steps I should take TODAY?»

Taking the time to do right now…this may make your studying much easier & more fun.. That’s it….well, at least for today. We’ll continue tomorrow.

Best wishes and much success to you,

Aurelio (Leo) Ramos

There will be a very clear routine for each class. The structure of this routine will be the same for most days, however, the content and activities will vary. But before we give you that routine, a couple of more details. The class will also consist of a pre-assessment test , a midterm on day 12 , and a final exam (all of which you’ll know the results right away). Additionally, you will continue to receive additional tools after the 21 lessons are done, as an added bonus, just to help you along.

The actual lesson will focus on active studying for a period of 60 minutes. And the structure of the lesson will have the following pattern:

  1. Success Routine & environment-     Here you will be reminded of routines that will help maximize the results of your studying. The focus is on setting up an environment that will help you anchor in what you are learning. DO NOT SKIP THIS PART. (This section should take about 2 min)
  2. Grounding work –     In this section you will settle into the lesson and (either reinforce or) learn grounding techniques that will help you maximize your focus and attention. Plus, this section will include techniques that appear
in the National Exam.(This section should take about 3-5 min)
  3. Setting clear& powerful intentions  -   This is similar to setting an agenda for the day. This section will implement powerful tools to help you really zone in on those areas that you want to strengthen.
One warning: These techniques may seem so simple that some may just want to skip them, PLEASE DO THEM EXACTLY AS GIVEN if you want to get the best results. (This section should take about 3 min)
  4. Tools & strategies – This section will simply provide you with some great tools for the day. Mainly you’ll just be asked to read and access these tools, don’t miss out. (No significant amount of time)
  5. ACTION STEPS – This is the core of the lesson. Please do the lesson as it is given to you. If this is an area of strength for you, you may move through the lesson much quicker and may turn out to be an easier day for
you. (This section should take about 45 min)
  6. Review & Reflect – This part of the lesson is VERY IMPORTANT. Becoming clear of your successes for that day will play a huge role  in building your self-confidence. Additionally, you will also have the opportunity to become clear of where you may need to focus more attention. (This section should take about 3-5 min)
  7. Suggested assignments – This section will provide you with additional resources, suggested assignments, games, activities, and much, much more. These will mainly be passive study materials. Please do as many as appropriate for you.
  8. CLOSURE & ANCHORING – Though this is not given as a step, I will give you a suggested activity to do at the end of each lesson. Please take the time to o it. This assignment may make a major difference in the level of your success. More details later…

The class is set up in such a way that you can have access to many free resources, mainly through the internet. I’ve spent countless number of hours gathering resources for myself when I studied for the
exam, and many more hours as I’ve been creating these materials. I’ve come across so much cool stuff (and so much useless stuff, too) that it only made sense to share the good stuff with you and save you all
that time. Though the internet is a powerful resource, there are some additional resources that I will recommend, because they have been very useful for me and my past students.

If they are appropriate for you, get them for yourself. If you don’t feel they are of benefit to you, don’t get them, they are not required for the class. I’ll let you know of these resources as it is appropriate.

As for the resources for this class. I strongly recommend you to get, what I like to call, a success journal. This journal will be used throughout the class. If you prefer to create your own, that’s great, all you need is paper and a binder or folder to keep your work.As for a book….I’m always asked this question. So let’s get it out of the way. I’ve come across many great books. However, some have just way too much information and many of them require lots of reading to just find what you are looking for….Plus, some of these are quite expensive. Interestingly enough, the one book that has been of most help to me and is the least expensive is the Review
for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork Certification. Though, it does not have as much information as other books it is laid out in a manner that makes it very easy to use for review and studying. I highly recommend it. I’ve even gone so far as to provide you the link that takes you directly to it and you can purchase it from Amazon. (Just a side note, I’ve called a few colleges that have taught a NCE class before and several of them have found the same value in this book and have used it for their class.)

(Hang in there, since this is the introductory page and it will be one of the longest ones you will get. I promise the other ones will be shorter :-) )

Today does not count as one of your 21 lessons. Actually, neither will tomorrow, because tomorrow will be considered Day 0, nor will the day of the final exam. (So to be exact the class will be a total
of 24 days, a bonus for you). Nonetheless, here are your first steps to begin your review and your success:

1. Each day set aside 60 minutes of uninterrupted and focused time. Tomorrow you will be taking a pre-assessment (100 questions) and in less than an hour. Do not study for the exam, we
want to know what you presently know.
2. Make sure you become very familiar with the resources page, it is there to help you. Today, take about 15-30 minutes to browse through the resources pages, do this right now. This page has many great resources and will continue to have more each chance I get to add to it. I would suggest making this one of your “Favorites” in your internet browser.
3. Take one of the surveys found in the resources page. You may take the Learning Style Survey or the Learning Style Survey #2.  Then take the time to identify resources that may fit your learning style by clicking
here.
